“Charles Chesnutt and the Racial History of the Stenographic Imagination” — and a Reminder

Those of you at the ALA conference in Boston last summer will remember hearing the paper on Chesnutt and stenography presented by Susanna Ashton.  We are happy to share the news that Susanna recently published an article that emerged from this research.  See “Charles Chesnutt and the Racial History of the Stenographic Imagination” in the new Winter 2024 issue of American Literary Realism. Congrats to Susanna!

Also remember that tomorrow is the last day to submit proposals for the 2024 ALA in Chicago, where we are sure to see exciting new research on Chesnutt from you!
